What’s in Octobers Makeup Bag?

October can be tough on the skin, those sticky tube journeys to the chilly wind, it’s all doom and glow for our skin.
But, here I’m going to take you on an October adventure through my makeup bag.

Catering to all skin types is a hard thing to do for skin companies. When the weather changes from warm to cool, the body produces less oil, so gel and foam cleansers become quite drying. A good rule of thumb is to use a non-drying, sulfate-free gel cleanser in the morning and a lightweight, lotion-based cleanser at night. This is why i change my primer to a lightweight in October. The primer you’ll find in my bag this morning is MAC Prep & Prime Skin. It is a lightweight gel lotion that evens out skin redness and tone while adding radiance. I much prefer this primer to my summer and spring ones as it doesn’t clog your pores.

Summer’s dewy complexion is no longer October’s concern. October concerns himself with immaculate, porcelain complexions. That’s why this girl uses Mac Studio Fix foundation and sets it with Younique’s powder foundation. The foundation is an oil-controlling formula that offers a natural matte finish with medium to full coverage. I think oil controlling is very important for the winter. Although your skin is a lot dryer the oil controlling formula will allow you to have the perfect balance of oil on your skin. This is particular important in sweater weather as walking into a warm cafe or bar can cause a bit of a sweat.
The powder I place over the top to just minimize any dewiness that the foundation may create. This gives a perfect finish.

But what about your lids of hear you say?
Well warm autumn tones are always a winner and Urban Decay palettes are the perfect way to colour your lids. What i love most about these palettes is they are highly pigmented meaning a good coverage for most or all of the day. I use a few pinky tones paired up with a shimmery silver to highlight and define.

What I really like about Octobers makeup bag is the warm colours, perfect coverage, but most of all its price tag. Affordable yet quality.
