It is very unusual that i sit down and write a ‘spur of the moment’ blog post, they are usually planned and kept in my ideas note book for a few days or weeks before i finalise and upload them.
Today i was feeling nostalgic and have spent my whole day procrastinating telling myself i would do the housework later. This is what Autumn/Winter does to me. It makes me hide away in my shell, not only internally but also by burying my head in thick jumpers or chunky scarfs.
However, despite all of that, it is my favourite time of year. The autumn months bring beautiful colours and exciting sounds. I love teaching my step son how to play conkers and collecting acorns, and then there is the leaf print colouring and tracing. It’s great to be able to re-live all the things you did as a child through them again!
But i also love this time of year because, for me, it’s all about staying in and getting cosy on the sofa.
Last April we moved into our first house together that we own. 18 months on and i love spending time in the house, it’s so beautiful and spacious it is so nice to be able to enjoy it.
18 months ago i also started this blog. It’s crazy to think how far you can come in a year without even realising it. Ive managed to go to loads of conventions, be invited to product launches and also to speak to people i never thought would ever respond to a comment let alone a message!
This opportunity has given me confidence, a new found love for backdrops (!) and a level of knowledge of the industry i didn’t think i would ever have. So i want to take this opportunity to thank every one of you. You keep me going through thick and thin and it means so much to me. I don’t know how things got to how they are today, but I am so grateful for every single one of you.
