Fentimans Cocktail/Mocktail Night

Fentimans have been making natural botanical drinks for over 100 years. ‘The artisanal drinks are brewed for 7 days using the time-honoured botanical brewing process.’
I have been extremely lucky to be able to trial their new 500ml range which will launch on 2nd January 2017.
These will include;
– Premium Indian Tonic Water
– Naturally Light Tonic Water (30% less sugar)
– Pink Grapefruit Tonic Water
– Ginger Beer with Muddled Lime
– Rose Lemonade
– Botanical Tonic Water
– Bitter Lemonade

All of these bottles are perfect mixers for cocktail nights, and that’s exactly what i did with them. I made a few traditional and i came up with some of my own.

Above you will see two cocktails. The first was the traditional Rose Mojito. The recipes/ methods of all of the cocktails we made are pretty standard or similar to the usual recipes, we just changed up the ingredients.
Ingredients for the Rose Mojito:
– Rose Lemonade
– 50ml Bacardi
– Ice

What i love the most about this twist on the normal mojito is that the Rose lemonade gives it that added flavour making it really something else. This was a personal favourite throughout the whole night.

The second one you can see was again a twist cocktail. This was a Strawberry iced bitter lemonade daiquiri.
Ingredients:
– 500g strawberries
– 200g ice
– 100ml rum
– 1/2 lime juiced
– Dash of Bitter lemonade
This one is super easy to make. Blend the strawberries then push the resulting puree through a sieve to remove some of the seeds. Tip the sieved puree into the blender again and add the ice, rum and lime juice. This is then frozen for around 1-2 hours and served like a slush puppy with bitter lemonade stirred in.

This cocktail is the Victorian Lemon drop.
Ingredients:
– 2oz Vodka
– 1/2 Bitter Lemonade
– Ice
Perfectly tradition perfectly different.

We also tried;

Rosy Lemon Martini.
– 2oz Vodka
– 1/2 Fentimans Rose Lemonade
– Splash lemon juice
– Ice

Pink Gin and Tonic.
– 2oz Gin
– 1/2 Pink Grapefruit Tonic Water

The Pink Grapefruit Tonic Water is like nothing i have every tried before. To be honest when i first looked at it i thought it would taste like a glorified soap- how wrong i was. This tonic is so refreshing- add it to Gin and you really do have a different kind of G&T all together. You have to try it to see what i mean, and yes that is a recommendation!

I have to say the Rose lemonade is one of my favourites from the range. The rose oil used gives an amazing after taste that is truly unique. No other rose infused lemonades compare to Fentimans- and i have tried a few. All the others appear to taste like a false, artificial rose flavour. However, with this, the ingredients are purely authentic and natural.

Vodka and Rum aside, we also made edible flower ice cubes to go with them. You can get edible flowers from places such as Etsy.com for a mere £2- freeze within the water for a few hours, serve as usual.
They give a lovely touch to a beautiful cocktail.

Fentimans have really made sure each and every drink is beautifully flavoured. From the Roses to the Lemons, every flavour has been brewed to perfection. Every mixer i now use will be a Fentimans- the flavour is to die for. With the new release of the 500ml bottle it makes a perfect size to have a few drinks of an evening either with a cocktail or unaccompanied.
