The Professional Beauty Show in London Excel was on 26th and 27th February this year and I was privileged to go to the event with a blogger/press pass meaning i saw some behind the scenes setup and got to talk more in-depth with the brands.
The Professional Beauty Show Europe’s leading and the UK’s largest beauty and spa trade show. From skincare to advanced treatments, make-up to nails, tanning to waxing and software to supplies it gives us all a chance to see what it up and coming and the latest must haves when it comes to the beauty industry. Trade stands are divided into many diverse categories from organic and natural beauty to medical aesthetic treatments. The majority of stands offer free treatments, demonstrations and talks which also offer expert knowledge and also available to answer any questions or queries.
As a creature of habit i do things for convenience. So when i looked at how to get to the Excel and realise there was 4 tube changes i opted to drive to the 02, park and ride the new cable car across which arrives 200m from the entrance. Although this is probably more expensive that the tube it was super easy and pretty much stress free.
We arrived around 9:15am and headed straight to the press office for a quick coffee and meet with some brands. XIP professional were already there, set up with brushes in hand ready to do my makeup for me. Hayley Sparkes did an amazing job and i felt like i had really been pampered. It was lovely to meet the faces behind the company and after a lengthy chat i went away with one of their double ended mascaras. For those that haven’t tried XIP mascaras then you are in for a real treat! This mascara blew.my.mind!
By 9:45 the show was pretty busy even after only being open for 15 minutes. As the show is a trade show there were many makeup artists and salon owners about. The most busy stands did appear to be Spectrum and NYX both of which had queues as far as the eye could see. I also skipped the NYX stand not just because of this but because there were no testers available on the day meaning foundation shades etc would have been chosen from eye which isn’t always the best! Please have them next year NYX!
One stand that i felt really stood out for me was the beautiful Caudalie Stand. They were showcasing a lot of their best sellers along with their brand new line which launched yesterday (27th Feb). I was super happy to be able to try them out first at the show.
Yes, Katherine Daniels Cosmetics did have a white flower wall and yes it was absolutely beautiful!
Some particular companies and brands that i wanted to mention that went out of there way to help me and spend time getting to know me were Guinot, iiaa, Matis, XIP Professional and Elemis. I have loads of samples to get through and try and i will soon be doing a post telling you all about my Professional Beauty haul.
This show was a great way for me to go and actually meet the face behind the PR emails and speak to them in person. The show is great for any bloggers who are looking for knowledge around various products, what the year to come has in store for the industry and to get their name out there a bit.
2018 will first of all not see me wearing heels (!) and secondly is likely to be on 25th and 26th February but that is yet to be confirmed.
