Skincare has been a big thing for me this month. April is a key time to change your routine and having recently read an article in Cosmopolitan about bloggers that stated “what’s being shared is personal experience…. which is fine for make-up, but can be dangerous for skincare”, I wanted to write a blog post about a particular skin care company with personal experience and facts. The hard, cold, sometimes not so lovely truth.
Recently the blogging industry has come to a bit of a head about fake reviews and biased opinions and be sure to know that yes this company did ask me to review these two products. However, know that if I had had some kind of reaction or some allergy they would have been sent right back. I am not one to shy away from telling people not to buy something if it is rubbish but at the same time if I genuinely like a product I will also shout it from the roof tops. In an industry where quality is mostly getting better and better there are not so many awful products out there any more. It may just simply be that it may not suit your particular skin tone or type. So here it is – my review…. truthfully!
A lot of people mistake moisturiser as an anti-ageing product. It is true a hydrated skin is a happy skin and moisturised skin means more elasticity. However everyone gets old! Now it is super important to know that anti-ageing creams are targeted for the older market as they have the issue with wrinkles etc. As you age the skins oil production slows right down meaning most anti ageing products are a lot heavier and richer on the skin. So if you’re younger and prone to spots or acne most anti ageing products aren’t going to help your outbreaks!!!!
However, having said that using a light moisturiser, keeping hydrated and getting those essential vitamins are going to help.
Say hello to Indeed Laboratories, a company that knows what the hell they are doing!!!
I was sent two products by this company. Firstly, Hydraluron Serum a moisture boosting facial serum and secondly Vitamin C24 a defence cream that protects against everything you can’t see.
Lets start with the Hydraluron Serum. I want to make a point of mentioning some of the ingredients because that is where it all starts. This bottle contains the purest form of hyaluronic acid. This is an incredibly hydrating ingredient that holds up to 1,000 times its weight in water and Red marine algae which mildly stimulates blood circulation. Combine these two ingredients together and you get this. A bottle that will help you with hopelessly dry, parched, flakey and dehydrated skin. I have a real combi skin so at first I was a little apprehensive to use the product. My T zone is hopelessly dry and no amount of makeup primer can make my foundation sit perfectly and my chin and cheeks are pore central. So I used this product mainly on my forehead in the hope this wouldn’t over-hydrate (if that’s even a thing) and bring me out in spots.
I have been using this for about a week now and so far so good. Note to use this one sparingly though. You do not need a lot!!! I have only been using this one in the evenings after I have cleared my makeup and toned my face. My sense in this is that you are not locking in dirt to your pores- not sure if that is possible but I think a clean face is always better.
Next we have the Vitamin C24 cream. This cream helps with premature aging caused by daily exposure to the sun, pollution, free radicals and other environmental aggressors. Now like I said above, anyone my age probably shouldnt really be using anti ageing products to stop wrinkles! But this is not what I am doing. I have been using this product in the morning before makeup as kind of a barrier cream. This cream protects against free radicals and environmental aggressors and the sun. “Vitamin c24 is a combined serum and moisturizer formulated with 22% Vitamin C (L- Ascorbic acid) + 2% Hyaluronic Microspheres. Unlike other Vitamin C products, this dual-action formula stays stable, doesn’t oxidize and is formulated for optimal absorption into the skin, allowing for the maximum C benefits and potency”.
I have been using this product not to reduce wrinkles but as a way of protecting my skin from those aggressors etc. I do not and have not noticed any change in said wrinkles in the week I have been using this product, however, using a product under your foundation that protects you from the sun (for starters) is always a good thing. I haven’t found this product too heavy but did feel like I needed to give my skin a break from it over the weekend. Again this is not something you need to use a lot of.
People do not realise how much you need to take care of your skin- especially if you’re a pale ale like me! There is no undoing the damage you do – especially with the sun!
Now it is coming up to summer when the water bottle is replaced with wine we still need to remember to keep hydrated! Especially for our skins sake! So before the summer kicks in, give these two bottles a try. I think they are really going to save me this summer! If you are in the UK you can shop them at Boots and for the rest of the world you can head over to the Indeed website.
