DOLLIBOX | July 2017

Dollibox July 2017

I have been receiving gorgeous boxes from Dollibox for the past 9 months and throughout the 9 months there has been a real variety of different products that have opened my eyes to some unique brands. From pure English brands to beautiful Korean brands, Dollibox really opens its doors to trying as many different beauty products as possible.

Dollibox is a monthly subscription box for £10 plus £3.90 p&p. You can either get a 3, 6 or 12 month subscription or one-off boxes. The content of the boxes are a surprise. Dollibox uses your beauty profile to send you products most suited to you so it is important to complete the beauty profile quiz.

  • A monthly subscription costs £10 per month (plus P&P). This is a rolling subscription, but you can cancel anytime.
  • A 6 month subscription consists of a one-off payment of £54 (plus P&P), which is £9 per box.
  • A 12 month subscription consists of a one-off payment of £102 (plus P&P), which is £8.50 per box

Every month you will receive 5/6 items with 2/3 being full size which is great value for money.

I wanted to start off by trying out the Manshili Cats Wink BB Cream (full size, 35g, £4.25). I love a good BB Cream and sometimes the cheaper brands are the better ones. This particular creams provides a glowy, hydrating base for makeup whilst evening out skintone and covering all those imperfections. This particular shade was too dark for my pasty cheeks, which I soon found out after smearing it everywhere. However, shade aside the coverage is good and I found the product to really highlight the face. Surprisingly I may actually buy this if the shade were lighter.

Next out the box was the Buff Up Body Oil in Lovers’ Blend. You all know I am not an oil person. I hate the greasy feel. Yuck yuck yuck!! So if I am honest with you I didn’t spread this all over my body, however, I can tell you now it smells gorgeous. I really really like the smell of the oil. I do feel  though that this would be a present that I would happily get for someone. Also Buff donates 2% of the profit from every sale to the Marine Conservation Society, big thumbs up there. So for the product it’s a no for me but as a company it is 100% a yes.

BioAqua Hydrating Seaweed & Hyaluronic Acid Moisturising Facial Mask is a face mask I have wanted to try for a while. This is a sheet mask and is super hydrating for the skin. I used this after a day of sun bathing and it was sooo refreshing and my face felt so soft after use. This is a real summer mask and if you put in the fridge for half hour before using it is really cooling too.

When a liquid eyeliner is good it can be a game changer for the makeup bag and if it is awful it can be a day ruiner. I find liquid eyeliner, in particular, is a really personal thing. Yanqina Maxi Black Liquid Eyeliner is just…well…ok. It doesn’t last all day long enough to ruin it, yet, the few hours it does stay on for it is intense and beautiful. I think I will hold on to this one as a back up as you can always re-apply throughout the day. So this product wasn’t a total disappointment.

An unbranded Silicone Sponge Applicator was included in the box. Silicone applicator’s are meant to reduce wastage from liquid foundations and such like. Do I like them? I am still yet to decide. I think the thought and feeling of using silicone kind of weirds me out. I prefer a good brush or a normal sponge. .

Bath time is my favourite time of day. Seacret Dead Sea Bath Salts are relaxing salts that you add to the bath that sooth and calm you and polish and soften the skin. There really is not anything to dislike about this product as long as you are a bath lover.

I felt this box was extremely mixed between good and not so good products. Having said that I am extremely glad I tried all the products as the majority of them I have wanted to try for a while. That is one of the things I love about Dollibox, the real mix of items means that you get to experience a wide variety of products that you may not have even heard of. All be it you may not like of them but to give you that opportunity at an affordable price is always a tick box for me. You can’t say you do not like something if you have never tried it. I am excited to see what next month has in store for us. You can see all my other Dollibox reviews here.
