I know, Im sorry its a week late! October has been the busiest month for me this year and I just had no time to read. This months book of choice was Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon. I have been seeing a lot of different things about this recently to the point where a few weeks ago the trailer for the film fell into my inbox. I thought it would be quite a pick me up for all those people with the October blues.
When I finally did get round to picking it up it literally took me a day and a half to read it, that’s whilst I was working during the day too. I could not put this book down at all!! Having seen the trailer and then read the book it really shocked me who they had cast to play the key roles, I think maybe they didn’t really suit the characters, but hey this isn’t a film analysis.
The book was undeniably a page turner and right up until the point of rejection I didn’t see the ending. When the story played out that Maddy wasn’t in fact sick you knew instantly she was going to find Olly.
I found my desire for Maddy’s happiness so strong. To be trapped by a lie that has been there for 18 years overpowers the reader with emotion. At the last page I wanted to know more. I feel that when the film is release there will definitely me a call for a sequel. How does Maddy deal with normal life? What happens to Maddy and Olly? What happens to Maddy’s mum? So many unanswered questions.
I feel this is a book that will stay on my shelf for a while and with out a doubt be reread in a year or so! There is always something you can pull from a book second time round that you missed on the first.
What did you think of the book?
Novembers book of choice is The Sun is Also a Star also by Nicola Yoon. I thought as Everything Everything was such a page turn it would be good to see how this one compares. You can buy it here.
