It is here. The season of log fires and hot chocolate with marshmallows and November’s Glossybox vows to take all of this into consideration. Curation is key for a subscription box and Glossybox have idealised the requirements for a snuggley cold November night in.
I feel like I kind of lost my love a little for Glossybox in October. Their Unicorn/ Mermaid box looked glorious, I was so mega excited to get my hands on one and then bam*!*! An email popped into my inbox explaining due to popularity this month I would not be getting the box I had waited all year for! I sulked all month about it and sat in silent envy of everyone else’s glorious boxes rolling in with excitement. So I hoped so much that November would be a good box to cheer me up!
If you are new to Glossybox then here is a little info. As you have probably gathered Glossybox is a beauty subscription service. Each month, it delivers a wide and varied selection of 5 beauty treats that include niche, high-end and emerging brands. I love this because you can get some good old faithful products yet try some things you would never normally buy. The latest trends are taken into account with every single box (you can see past boxes here) to bring you reusable and stylish boxes full of beauty essentials.
There are 4 different ways to subscribe to Glossybox starting from as low as £9.50! Choose between a monthly rollover box (cancel any time), a 3 month, 6 month or 12 month pre-paid subscription. Each month there is a little deal to be had on a freebie up for grabs so make sure you keep and eye out on social media.
Greenfrog Botanic Natural Body Wash Relaxing Geranium & Peppermint has been classed as ‘good enough to eat’ although obviously not recommended. This is great for sensitive, eczema prone skin and smells absolutely amazing.
I was a little bit sad to see another brush in the mix, although, the Beauty UK Cosmetics Controur/ Powder Brush is super soft and a really useful size. It is great for blending and highlighting along with contouring also. I wouldn’t recommend this for liquid foundation though. The brush clumps easily making application hard.
I have heard quite good things about Sport FX products. I have tried their brushes and spray before but not a makeup product as such. SportFX Candy Floss Moisturising Lip Balm smells divine. It makes having it on your lips super yummy. I am so blessed to have soft lips, I don’t think I have ever really used lip balm but it is nice to have it there if need be
Oh another ‘blonde’ brow product. This is a standing joke on my blog with my light brows. Could Collection Cosmetics really offer a true blonde product? Define & Perfect Eyebrow Powder in Blonde is something I have been interested to try for a while. It is a little dark for me but using a little less and blending well I think I can get away with it. It is particularly good for filling in space caps too.
Lastly I pulled out Boots Charcoal and Willow Bark Sheet Mask. I do love a good charcoal mask and incorporating this with willow bark proves to be an interesting combo. I would have preferred to try this is the traditional mask form rather than sheet personally as I feel my skin absorbs better than with a sheet. My skin was left super soft but I didn’t feel it left it nourished or looking any more radiant.
At first when I opened the box I wasn’t bowled over if I am honest, I think with last months sour taste in my mouth I was a bit biased. So I left trying any of the products for a few days and reopened the box and looked at it from an individual product point of view rather than a whole. The box offers a variety of products and it has been interesting to try another brow product that actually I can use. Although not wowed by the box I think the box offers a good variation in product and I will use all the products. Hoping December is a little better.
