For a lot of people when the month ‘February’ is mentioned only 1 thing springs to mind…. Valentines Day, and this is where Glossybox have jumped right on board!

For me Valentine’s day isn’t anything special, not because I do not have anyone but simply because I do not care. My fiance and I see it as a over- commercialized day with the only key objective is to either make money from the ‘loved up’ or to make money from the ‘sad and lonely’.

Whether it be flowers, chocolates, films or even a tub of Ben & Jerry’s… the industry thrives on one of the busiest flower days of the year.

Don’t get me wrong a nice bunch of flowers is nice but why single it out to one day of the year when they’re expected rather than a surprise- surely an unexpected bouquet after your long hard day on an unexpected Tuesday makes for a better surprise?

Enough about my hate of Valentines day though, Glossybox have jumped on board the bandwagon and February sees a bright pink box littered with a lid of lips, lipstick, rainbows and sweets.

Box Contents:

The first item I instantly saw in the box was Skin Chemists 24 hour Aqua Cream. Having reviewed some of Skin Chemists products before I was surprised to see such an expensive full size item included- happy surprised though.

With an RRP of £64 the box is already up for looking good on value.

The cream is amazing if you have oily skin as it is very light and adds back that moisture into the skin that so many products strip out without making your skin greasy by the end of the day. I absolutely love this product and have been using it as a primer for makeup and a moisturiser!!!

Sticking out the top of the box is I-Divine palette from Sleek! I was super excited about this. There are a few different palettes you may receive but this one is ‘Storm’.

Mineral based and highly pigmented this palette is the definition of the perfect palette. Last March Glossybox had the Sleek Eye & Cheek Palette in the box and I was pretty impressed so I was quite excited to try this palette out.

With 12 individual shades to use each palette really does cater to all needs! With 8 different Palettes available (and they’re on offer in boots right now) I may have to venture and get the other 7!!

Ciate Gelology Nail Varnish is the next product in the box. I love Ciate polish so this was kind of like a ‘yes, another one’ moment. Offering ten days of ‘high gloss shine’ I applied it straight away which should mean Ill get another chance to paint again before baby arrives. I am going to need serious non chip varnish through that!

Last February Glossybox had another shade included which was super pretty and I kind of want to see a ciate polish in every February box from now on as a kind of tradition? Glossybox what do you think?

Steve Laurant gives us Nude Lip and Cheek Tint in a stunning rose gold case. We first saw one of his stunningly housed products back in December which was actually pretty impressive so I was intrigued to see if this would stand the test of time. The tint isn’t in your face bright red like so many of them are, it is a very warm shade and one I was really happy with. It sits on the skin nicely and works well with a setting spray as opposed to a setting powder. I am looking forward to seeing more of his products in future boxes.

Studio 10 have sent their Beauty Makeup Mist Glow-Plexion our way. So this is a primer, setting spray and moisturiser all in one (perfect to use with the cheek and lip tint). It also doubles up as a pore reducer too! This is super light weight and after using it three days in a row now I noticed my pores aren’t clogged at all and my makeup is definitely lasting a lot longer.

Although this box was (very) bright and vibrant, I still think, allbeit a plain box, January’s was brighter. I loved the variety in this box though and I really liked all the products even if the brands weren’t all new to me. For a Valentine’s Day box I thought it was a curated really well and made me really excited for date night.
