The weather has been pretty frightful recently especially the week after Evelyn was born. We daren’t take her out in the thick snow so we stayed inside wrapped up.
With a new born, rooms are meant to be kept between 16c and 20c. The heating is all well and good but with the weather It can be quite costly. We managed to keep the temperature at around 19c, not too hot but not too cold.
However, with a vest and sleep suit this still is not warm enough for a new born. They need something else too. A blanket is great but how many times do they kick it off right?
This is where a swaddle is absolutely perfect.
Tucked up tightly with zero chance of the baby removing it (obviously age dependant). This swaddle is the Love To Swaddle UP warm from Cheeky Rascals.
It is a 2.5 tog sleep suit with a unique ‘arms up’ design. This is actually amazing if your baby sleeps with their arms by their head like mine. it also means you don’t need to worry about scratches, mittens or hands getting cold.
The swaddle is quilted from the chest downwards, and padded with breathable, natural bamboo, which creates a breathable warm layer without the need for a blanket.
The bag like part of the swaddle still allows baby to kick and tuck in nicely giving it a natural feel.
Evelyn literally loves a swaddle and this one has been a god send.
