I have never been a huge fan of false lashes. In the past 5 years I think I have worn them 5 times. If that. The last time I wore them was at my wedding and they irritated me all day.
I think you can even tell in some of my wedding pics. In hindsight I should have just had a lash lift or extensions. You could hardly see my eyes.
That is one thing about myself I actually like. My eyes. Since having Laser Eye Surgery 5 years ago ( I should probably write about that) I make sure I look after my eyes with the best care I can.
I replace mascara every few months, I have days without mascara, I never wear makeup to bed, I don’t wear false lashes (hardly) and I do not use eye lash curlers. Your eyes are one of your most needed organs in your body yet they are pretty much irreplaceable unless you have a glass eye. One of my worst fears is going blind. I think id rather be deaf than blind. So looking after them is a priority.
Naturally, I have reasonably long lashes but recently have been looking for an extra hand to get them that tad bit longer.
I didn’t want to stick a load of product on them and hope for the best. I wanted one thing that would work and not require much from me.
That is when NYK1 came on the scene.
Before they asked if I wanted to trial some serum I was on the look out for a lash product that may help but not hugely looking if that makes sense.
I wanted something but I didn’t really know what.
I have been using NYK1 for 7 weeks now as I wanted to give it a real deep honest review with no assumptions.
Firstly I want to say before I accepted this I did a little bit of research.
The serum has been Dermatologically and Ophthalmologist tested and has been tested and approved as safe for those that wear contact lenses too. This was a key thing for me. I didn’t want to add something to my lashes without knowing what was in it and if it was going to make all my lashes drop out or not… you never know!
Turns out it is not just for Lashes but brows too. Probably should have given that a go too! Maybe I’ll try to then update this with the results of the brows.
This time I just used it on my lashes.
So first of all it is super easy to apply. You simply drag it along the lash line like you would with liquid eyeliner… that bloody simple.
‘ Our NYK1 Lash Force is an innovative, concentrated 3 in 1 eyelash & brow serum that combines specific purified ingredients that regenerate, rebuild and activate growth in both length and thickness to protect the structure of each follicle.’
The serum comes in a gorgeous silver tube, similar to that of a eyeliner and has an easy to apply felt tip applicator.
Oddly I couldn’t find the ingredients list on their website but they seem to sell a lot through amazon and it appears to be on there; Purified Water, Disodium Phosphate, Cellulose Gum, Citric Acid, Swertia Japonica Extract, Panax Ginseng Extract, Biotin (Vitamin B7), Sodium Chloride, Riboflavin (Vitamin B2), Benzalkonium Chloride.
I also found a comment on there from NYK1 that states ‘none of our products are tested on animals. We, at NYK1 are true animal lovers and would never, ever condone animal testing.‘ Which is an extra bonus point to NYK1.
You need to apply the serum twice a day to see results. Now obviously they are not going to happen over night. You realistically need to do it for a minimum of 6 weeks. The serum helps to strengthen and protect the follicles meaning less dropout and longer lashes.
I will admit there were a few days where I did forget to use it and I do think the pictures on the website could be a little misleading. The pictures show a before with no mascara and an after with mascara (by the looks of it). That being said you can tell they are definitely thicker.
I have found that my lashes are a little thicker and certainly a little longer. I am hoping with a few more weeks use I will see them grow a little more too.
You only have to look at all the reviews (not just mine) to show that it really does work.
I am going to continue for a few more weeks but then sounds like the growth with Plateau, which by then, I’ll reduce it down to once a day.
The cost is £34.95 on their website which I feel is really good for the results produced.
No this is not a quick fix so If you want long lashes by Saturday night you may want to look elsewhere. But if you are looking for long-term benefits and a good quality product then look no further. NYK1 have really hit the nail on the head.
To purchase the product head over to their website.
