I really struggle with the motivation to exercise. I won’t lie, I really do. Since seeing the dietician etc I have been better, but not perfect. I needed something to boot me up the rear and I thought this would be the boot to do it.
I originally mentioned this on my blog post 10 Best Fitness planners. Having used the previous online planners from Blogilates I knew this was going to be a winner. That’s one of the reasons I wanted to share the contents with you. At a cost of $39 and shipping from America you want to make sure it’s 100% what you want. I was quite shocked I didn’t have any import charges (UK) I’m not too clued up on the rates but was sure books still fell into the duty due bracket.
Lets get stuck in…
The planner is wrapped in a beautiful pink tissue paper with the logo sticker seal. Now, this may vary depending which colour planner you purchased, however, this is how my Citrus Planner came. The Floral Planner is equally as beautiful but may be wrapped differently.
Having lifted out the planner, underneath is a 3 step note from Cassey on how to get started with the planner. You maybe someone that just wants to do things their own way but if you’re a perfectionist and want to get it exactly as intended this is great. It’s a nice little extra something too that I don’t think I have seen in a Fitness Planner before.
I was actually really shocked at the thickness and quantity of pages in the planner. In a good way though. A lot of thought has gone into this little detail which adds a great deal. The majority of pages are for logging and planning and then at the end of periods, reflecting too. The planner also haves good quality paper. To have a good quality paper in a planner is, for me, really important. Pen ink leaking through makes the planner only half usable for starters
As you open the planner the first thing you are invited to do (other than write your name) is the 5 things that bring you joy and 5 things that deprive you of joy. I love how this starts. It’s black and white for when we are down to pull us back up.
It then ventures on to self improvement, Long term goals and dreams.
There is also a 2021 vision…’This year I want to feel….One bad habit I want to get rid of…’ etc.
These are the bases of the diary and what your 2021 goals are all about.
We then move on to the months in which we make our goals and dreams reality.
The months are all about habits and tracking them. There is room each month to plan your month as a whole and also to write daily. The daily sections allow you to write what you ate or how you feel and any workout details too. There is a water tracker, how long you have slept, what you have eaten and when you need to do today. The to do list comes with tick boxes too to really help you feel accomplished.
A little extra on each week is a weekly challenge such as ‘Do a 45 second plant before every shower you take’ which I think is a great basic to at least try and do if you can’t squeeze in workouts for a few days.
At the end of each month there is a monthly recap- What did I learn? Challenges I survived? Something I’m proud of. There is also a few lines for you to write how you can make next month better. And the icing on the cake (no pun intended) there is a cheeky recipe to indulge yourself with too.
At the end of the journal there are a few guides such as Measurement Guide and how to measure body fat.
Then lastly there is a Bye Bye 2021 section to write all your accomplishments for the year.
Overall the diary is jam packed with everything you could need and do need to get you through the year. The various methods compiled together to get a fun but working approach is fantastic. I cannot wait to get stuck in to mine and write in all my goals and actually. hopefully start achieving them.
One other little extra Cassey offers that, when purchasing, you can choose to add a Wall Calendar too for an additional cost- just another great way to make it fun and easy.
