Cybex Sirona S i-Size Car Seat | Raising Evelyn

A few weeks ago Evelyn was diagnosed with severe Hypermobility. Being hypermobile basically means your joints are more flexible than others. Evelyn has had a lot of pain with hers and now is on a waiting list for 6 months of Physiotherapy. We have lots of exercises that we are currently doing with her to help her gain strength but as soon as she is old enough we have been advised to enroll her in Ballet and Gymnastics and the such like. However, Rugby and Trampolining are a definite no no  ...

9 Months in | 9 Months out

9 Whole Months!! Like W.T.F! 9 Months in… 9 Months out Evelyn is 9 months old today… that’s a whole pregnancy! Or 4.5″ of hair growth, or the time it takes to read Harry Potter series 168 times, or Watch a butterfly appear from a cocoon after it makes it about 25 times!!! It is such weird feeling still that she is here and she is ours. It gives me cold sweats when I think about how quick it has gone and all the things she has learnt to do and all the things she will  ...

Keeping Evelyn Warm Part 2 | ErgoPouch Cocoon Swaddle + Sleep Bag

I wanted to do another review of another swaddle I have been using. Why? Because, after discovering this one I couldn’t not! I didn’t want do a comparison post because they are both right up there for me. Say hello to the ErgoPouch ergoCocoon Winter Swaddle & Sleep Bag. This swaddle is a 2.5 tog and perfect for the cold weather. The one thing I loved about on this one is that the arms have poppers. This enables you to have babies arms in or out. We opted for out as Evelyn  ...

Cheeky Rascals | Soft Touch Baby Bath Support

When I was pregnant I loved a bath. It helped backache, swelling, relaxing… just about everything. Bath time was a time I could rub my bump and talk to her and it was a time that baby used to kick like mad and toss and turn. Who doesn’t like a bath right? When I was younger I (somehow) absolutely hated them but If I do not have a couple a week now, I feel so stressed. Weird I know but it is that ‘me time’ that no one can ruin. I need that half hour of zoning out,  ...

Motherhood | The first chapters of life

Motherhood. No one can prepare you for it. No matter how many websites you read or how much advice you are given you can only be told about experience. Each baby is unique and only the minority are text book babies. I remember being told that having a ‘good baby’ is sleeping through the night at 6 weeks. After ample research it turns out babies shouldn’t sleep through the night and if they do you are most likely over feeding them. Babies should wake every 2-5 hours  ...

Sleepyhead Pods | Are They Worth The Hype

I want to start off by saying something outright…. I hate Moses baskets! They are big, bulky, ugly …. there is not one thing about them I like! However don’t judge me just yet! I wanted to find an alternative to lugging a Moses basket about the house that didn’t include having a swing crib by the bed and Moses basket downstairs. I wanted portable… I wanted something easy… I wanted something almost necessary! I have a Moses basket for night-time sleeping.  ...

Evelyn Naomi Ritson

To be honest I thought I would still be here still writing a 40/41 bump update blog post feeling very uncomfortable and whiney. Today would have marked the 41 weeks pregnant mark but instead it marks the “I’m one week old mark”. Say hello to Evelyn Naomi Ritson, born 19th February 2018 at 21:40 after just 7 hours labour. She is absolutely perfect and the most joyful bundle ever. Birth story coming soon.

25-33 Week Update

33 weeks, I can’t believe It’s here already. This pregnancy has absolutely flown by and now I’ve hit the final seven weeks. I am so excited. Although the third trimester has bought heart burn and discomfort this baby girl is the most active little thing and is so ready to meet us. I’ve been slowly getting more and more tired as the weeks are going by yet sleeping is getting less and less, any tips for comfy side sleeping would be much appreciated. Before now it felt  ...

Bump Update | Boy or Girl?

From the moment I took the test I knew it was a boy. I felt it in my bones. Call it intuition, call it foolishness, call it what you will but I knew I was having a boy. I have had not one moment of morning sickness (typically known with boys), I was glowing and I was growing… fast. Despite my cockiness we decided to have a 16 week scan to find out as we would be on out babymoon for our 20 week scan so over to Baby Bond we went. At our 12 week scan the baby was right at the front of my  ...

Why people are making me cry these days!

Why ARE people making me cry these days?! Yes ok pregnancy hormones are kicking in (you can follow my pregnancy journey here) but I have recently been seeing people in a different light. By that I mean, most people are one for themselves, why wouldn’t they be? Who wants to do something for others if there is nothing in it for them these days. I am proudly not one of those people. If someone is struggling with their shopping and I have a free hand of course I will help them, they  ...
