Staying Organised | A Busy Mums Guide

I feel like I am on the go dawn until dusk every single day. I literally have my diary with every single place I go. If it’s not in the diary, it ain’t happenin’. I obviously use a smart phone but I cannot get on with using the calendar on my phone. I think when it’s in black and white and you can strike it off you have a sense of achievement- maybe that’s why? I don’t know. Either way I know that I have to use a diary every single year. I’ve been  ...

6 Things you have to Learn to Deal With as a Mum That WILL Gross You Out| Raising Evelyn

There are many many things we say and hope we never have to deal as an adult. In reality you are going to be doing probably all those things if you want to be or are already a mum. Things like wiping your child’s bogey with your own finger quickly before a photo, or peeling their caked poo vest off their back whilst trying not to spread it in their hair more than they already have, or even swirling your mouth with endless mouthwash because your child has been sick in your mouth! You  ...

We Started Weaning | Raising Evelyn

No one tells you ‘Today is the day to start weaning!’ No one says ‘Hey it is going to be a long hard slog!’ or “The is going to be super easy!’ No body says anything like that and just like that *BAM* you regret even starting! We started weaning Evelyn when she was 5 months. She was more than ready and everything was going straight in her mouth. It started well. We started with dinner because that was what was working for our lifestyle and she would have  ...

Evelyn is 6 months old | Raising Evelyn

Evelyn is 6 months old, like whhhaaaa??? 6 months has gone ridiculously quick. I cannot understand how it has been 6 months since I screamed at the midwife this baby was coming today! I think I have had a mostly stable 6 months. I’ve had 1 melt down, 3 times I cried after looking in the mirror and approximately 182 days of IDGAF what I am wearing. I thought with all the emotions and hormone in- balances there would be daily tears but I am doing ok. I remember very clearly my first  ...

My Baby Birth Story | His and Hers Perspective

I have been debating whether to write about my birth story, whether to share all the details or whether to keep it just for us. I think if it had gone any differently then perhaps this post wouldn’t have happened. I wanted to write my perspective on what I think happened when I wasn’t too drugged up to help other first time mum’s understand what it can be like. Every birth is unique and everyone experiences things differently. I also wanted Phil to write his version of  ...

The Postpartum in between weight | Why nothing in my wardrobe fits

This is the part I knew I would hate. Waking up in the morning and trying to find something in the wardrobe that fits. Every morning I still try to squeeze into my size 8 jeans in the hope that over night somehow I have lost a stone (lol)! I have already lost 3 stone since giving birth and I have a little less than one left to lose and Evelyn is not even 5 months yet. I think I am doing quite well but that last stone is a killer to shift. I see now why they call it stones! Can we just stop  ...

Soothing Skin with Childs Farm |Booths New Skincare Range

Everyone is slowly beginning to hear of Childs Farm. They hit the deck last year with their ‘miracle’ baby moisturiser which claimed to be great for sensitive eczema prone skin. Booths have a new skincare range out and have decided to include Childs Farm in it (YAY). I am no expert on eczema. My step son has suffered with it pretty much all his life, we have him every other weekend so it is notes who primarily has to deal with it but we’ve had to do our fair share. The  ...

Everyone is saying you have to find your self again

The size 10 jeans are still a little too snug for my post baby back side and the pregnancy clothes are too baggy and so I am stuck on this in-between, needing a new wardrobe…. temporarily. I think being stuck on this in-between is not only being seen in my wardrobe but my life right now also. I mean, learning how to look after your new born and then the sleep deprivation on top, yet, still trying to be you and live your life… it is hard. No one prepares you for that. There are  ...

The Izmi Wrap

From the very start of my pregnancy I was on the hunt for a wrap or carrier to hold my baby in when she arrived. A lot of people have an opinion against them but as long as you are careful I think they are a great idea. One that particularly stood out is The Izmi Wrap. A lot of carriers etc you cannot use for newborns so firstly that was key in our hunt. Next it had to be soft. If the carrier or wrap was going to hold my baby to me she would have to be snuggled in and comfy. And of  ...
