The Chalk Man by C.J.Tudor Review

I bought this book for 2 reasons. 1, the front cover includes a glowing review by none other than Lee Child one of my favourite authors. and reason 2, because the front cover includes a glowing review by Stephen king, another amazing author. The front cover weirdly has a duplicated front cover. So it has the front cover and then, effectively page 1, is a second front cover material page but with loads and loads of reviews written on it. So weird and the first book I have ever seen like it.  ...

I Know My Name by C J Cooke

I Know My Name is a book about Lochlan’s Wife El who has vanished from the family home leaving behind a 12 week old baby and a toddler. Her money, car and passport are all in the house, with no signs of a break in or struggle. It seems that every clue the Police find there has a lie been told. Lochlan appears to not really know his wife and vice versa. Miles away a unconscious woman washed up on the beach of a Greek island wearing a life jacket. She has cut her head and is covered in  ...

Lie With Me by Sabine Durrant Book Review

Lie with Me is about Paul. Paul is a bit of a womaniser and, in my opinion, a women’s worst nightmare. Really he only cares about one thing… sex. He clearly has a flavour for the younger woman, however, although this is brought up throughout the book it is not what the book is about. Paul meets an old friend and in turn starts dating one of the friends family members. He is invited on their family holiday and he makes a few white lies to ‘fit in’. However, these  ...

Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman Book Review

Welcome back to the ABB Book Club (ABBBC). It has been a while I know and I apologise. It has been a difficult 12 months but I am so very glad to be picking up the books again. For the past 2 weeks I have had my head stuck in Eleanor Oliphant is Completely Fine by Gail Honeyman. So I guess this is more of a book review than a Book Club discussion. I’ll be totally honest, I struggled to get into the book. I have had it on the side for a couple of months and would read a page here and  ...

Finally picking up the Books again! | ABBBC

It has been a hell of a long time since I tackled a book. Nearly a year to be exact. I have missed it so incredibly much. The past 12 months have gone by in a blur and the time to pick up a book has not been there, I thought. In the mornings I get up with Evelyn no later than 6:30 and we get changed and ready for the day and breakfast is in front of her by 7. Whilst she eats I usually check emails and respond to clients and see the mornings updates on social media. And let me stop you right  ...

25 Books to read in 2018

We are half way through 2018 already (like whhaaa???) what books have you read so far? I must admit the book club has taken a back seat recently and for that I apologise I just don’t have the time to work, raise a baby, blog, look after home life AND read a book. However it will be back up soon… promise. As I cant read too much right now here is a list of 25 books to read this year that I would have loved too or have managed to cram in! 25 Books to read in 2018 1. Then she was  ...

ABBBC April

Welcome back to the ABB Book Club (ABBBC). First of all I know this post is late- I am sorry. April? What ? Did it even happen? I am literally losing track of weeks here! Anyway so this months book of choice was Happy: Finding joy in every day and letting go of perfect By Fearne Cotton. You can buy it here. I am going to be 100% honest with you here… I could not get into this book at all! I really couldn’t. Over March and April I really tried. I picked it up a dozen times easily  ...

ABBBC February

Welcome back to the ABB Book Club (ABBBC).  February has literally flown by and we have been reading The List by Siobhan Vivian. I ploughed through this book at the beginning of the month as I knew having a new born would mean my priorities were going to be a bit out of wack and found it to be a surprisingly easy read. The List is about a group of people who’s names are put on a list at the beginning of the new school year. The list is the hottest and ugliest people from each year  ...

ABBBC January

Welcome back to the ABB Book Club (ABBBC). December was such a busy month we decided to have one book for December and January. That book was We Were Liars by E Lockhart. Being heavily pregnant it is hard for me to sit in one position for long periods of time so I’ve only been able to manage a few pages at once. However, I am glad we choose one book for December and January. We Were Liars is a very different story. Although sometimes I got confused because it jumped to different years  ...

ABBBC October

I know, Im sorry its a week late! October has been the busiest month for me this year and I just had no time to read. This months book of choice was Everything Everything by Nicola Yoon. I have been seeing a lot of different things about this recently to the point where a few weeks ago the trailer for the film fell into my inbox. I thought it would be quite a pick me up for all those people with the October blues. When I finally did get round to picking it up it literally took me a  ...
