Dress Those Winter Blues Away!

Well folks, it’s happened. Winter is well and truly here. It’s the time of frost encrusted windows, chilly, slate-grey skies and those ubiquitous multi coloured cups streaming out of those franchised coffee outlets. As we walk, we leave trails of cloud behind us like Thomas the Tank Engine as we negotiate slippery, sparsely salted streets and navigate the thronging masses on the high street to do those last remnants of Christmas shopping. 2017, The Year of change. Looking back

2017 what a year! I wanted to look back over the past year rather than a look forward to 2018. 2018 holds a lot of uncertainty for me but that’s good. We have no idea really when this baby will arrive, we may or may not go on holiday, we are probably getting married.. there is so much up in the air that I could so easily stress about that I just want to look back and appreciate right now. 2017 – right where to do I start. I guess I want to start with one thing I did not expect.  ...

Mental Health Awareness | How I obliterated my SAD

English winters are not hugely cold or warm they are mainly dreary and grey with a toss of English moaning about the weather whipped in. This is where I think Seasonal Affective Disorder, or SAD, has developed in mankind. Having nothing to look forward to and dreary day after dreary day can certainly have an impact on someone. As a teenager I know it did for me. I mean, What did I have to look forward to? Exams, revision , holiday homework, walks to the bus stop in the cold? Everyone needs  ...

Why I love Autumn

Leaves are slowly hitting the ground, the hint of Christmas is around the corner and conkers are littering our parks…. It can only be one time of year here in the UK… AUTUMN. I think Autumn is well and truly on its way and I am so excited. It is my absolute favourite time of year regardless of the cold weather and impending clouds. There is something so sadistically beautiful about the leaves dying on trees. The colours are so varied and stunning! As you can see below things are  ...

September Goals

September is knocking, like where did the summer go? I feel I’ve been waiting for September since forever. Finding out I was pregnant back in June made me long for my 20 weeks more but the summer has made it fly by and here we are- September has arrived! Being pregnant means heat, plus there have been quite a few days this summer that have been unbearable so if I am completely honest I am looking forward to the cooler weather and the boots and the roll necks! Inspiration hasn’t  ...

Christmas Decorations on a budget

I love love love Christmas. It really is my favourite time of year. The colours, the lights, the music, the smells… everything. But, especially the Christmas tree. When the Christmas tree goes up in our house it’s a sign that it is well and truly on its way. The excitement starts and the mulled wine is a-plenty. For some people, Christmas is a time of extreme financial difficulty. Having children increases the cost considerably and decorations are sometimes one of the  ...

Relection Thursdays

It is very unusual that i sit down and write a ‘spur of the moment’ blog post, they are usually planned and kept in my ideas note book for a few days or weeks before i finalise and upload them. Today i was feeling nostalgic and have spent my whole day procrastinating telling myself i would do the housework later. This is what Autumn/Winter does to me. It makes me hide away in my shell, not only internally but also by burying my head in thick jumpers or chunky scarfs. However,  ...
